Bad News

Let's Start With The Bad News:

Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment! (Hebrews 9:27)

The Bible says, on that day, you will bow before God and give an account for yourself. You will be judged for every idol word, thought, & action. Including all of your sins!

What is sin? - "All wrongdoing is sin." (1 John 5:17)
God said, "All our righteous acts are like filthy rags." (Isaiah 64:6)
God set the standard of righteousness with His law, the Ten Commandments.

Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment! (Hebrews 9:27)

The Bible says, on that day, you will bow before God and give an account for yourself.  You will be judged for every idol word, thought, & action ... including all of your sins!

Have You Ever Broken Any of the Ten Commandments?

(The ten commandments can be found in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.)

Let's go through some of the commandments and find out how you will do on Judgment Day.

You shall not murder.

You shall not murder.

"Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him." (1 John 3:15) Have you ever hated anyone or been angry without just cause? If so, that made you a murderer in your heart.

You shall not steal.

You shall not steal.

Have you every stolen anything? Even if it was something small or long ago. If so, that made you a thief.

You shall not commit adultery.

You shall not commit adultery.

In Matthew 5:27-28 Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." If you have ever looked at anyone with lust, that makes you an adulterer at heart.

You shall not use God's name in vain.

You shall not use God's name in vain.

Have you ever used God’s name as a cuss word? This is called blasphemy. "For the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name." (Exodus 20:7)

You shall have no other gods before Me.

You shall have no other gods before Me.

Have you put anything before God?... Friends, family, money, sex, work, TV or something else. If so, then you have other gods in your life.

You shall not give false testimony.

You shall not give false testimony.

Have you ever told a lie? If you have told even one lie, that makes you a liar. According to Revelation 21:8, "All liars will have their place in the fiery lake of hell."

Thinking

How have you done so far? Those were only 6 of the commandments.

Read James 2:10 ... "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it."

  • Romans 6:23 - "The wages of sin is death."
  • Jesus said, "No one is good - except God alone." (Mark 10:18)
  • Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

God is a perfect judge. God will not let sin go unpunished. We have all missed the mark.
There is a 100 % chance that you are going to die. Can you guarantee you are going to wake up tomorrow? Don't put your head on your pillow tonight unless you know exactly where you are going to spend eternity.

If you died tonight, where do you think you would go ...

Heaven or hell ?

Here is The Good News!

Good News

The God of all Creation became a man in the flesh. His name is Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect, sinless life and chose to be crucified on a cross and die for your sins. Then God raised him from the dead, so that He could give you eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

You have broken the law and Jesus paid your debt. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Gift from God

The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6) Jesus is the only way to heaven. God requires a perfect blood sacrifice to cover our sins and he provided one for us with Jesus.

If you do not choose to take God’s free gift, you will go to hell when you die because you have died in your sins.

Are you asking,

"How do I receive this free gift of forgiveness and God's Grace?"

Repent of your sins. Confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved. God will forgive you of your sins. Then you will pass from death to life.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." (2 Corinthians 5:17-18)

Prayer:
To find the way to God, to understand the truth of God’s Word, and to receive the free gift of eternal life, begin by repentance and faith through a prayer like this:

Dear God, I understand that I have broken Your Law and sinned against You. Today I turn away from all of my sins (name them).  Thank You that Jesus suffered on the cross in my place. This day I put my trust in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. He is the only way for me to be saved. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Please forgive me, change my heart, and grant me Your gift of everlasting life. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

It’s not just a one time prayer - it’s a whole new lifestyle.  If you have repented and trusted in Jesus as your savior, it is important to begin growing in your relationship with Jesus. Read the Bible daily and see what God has in store for those who love Him. Find yourself a Jesus-centered, Bible-teaching church and commit yourself to it. You will enjoy the support, encouragement, and Christian fellowship provided by your local church. A pastor will also be available there to help answer questions you may have.

Go tell others what God has done for you!
