Where Are You Going to Spend Eternity?

Where are you going to spend eternity?

10 out of 10 people die.

You need to be sure of where you are spending eternity.

Jesus spoke of true and false conversion, saying: "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown." (Matthew 13:3-8)

"Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: The seed is the word of God. When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful. But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown." (Matthew 13:18 - 23)

Did someone tell you that just because you said a prayer, that you are a Christian?

Listen to what scripture says, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10).

Jesus said, "For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matthew 9:13)

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out ..." (Acts 3:19)Repent means to feel such sorrow for your sin that you turn from your wicked ways. Do you have pleasure in your sins or do you get convicted and turn from your wicked ways?

The bible says, " ... That all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness." (Thessalonians 2:12)

~ Does sin still run your life? Do you brag about your sins to other people? ~

Acts of a Sinful Nature:  Sexual immorality, impurity, lust, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, arrogance, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, envy, murder, drunkenness, wild living, cheating, adultery, greed, stealing, and lying.

We are suppose to examine ourselves with what the bible says.  "A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." (Matthew 7:17-20)

Fruit of the Holy Spirit:  Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Do you have all of these? Do you have peace in your life? Love? Patience? Self-Control?...

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

Jesus spoke twice as much about hell than he spoke about heaven. Hell is a real place of eternal torment. "Each man's life is but a breath". (Psalm 39:5)

When you think long term, you are going to be in eternity a lot longer than you are here on earth.
